ARK Angelic RayKey: What is an Angel?ARK

Angels have been recorded in the past through the holy books of many religions. Perhaps the oldest is Zoroastrianism, a religion still alive today that came into being almost 2500 years ago in Media or Persia (modern day Iran). Two classes of angels were recognized, Helpful Immortals and Guardian Angels. Each person picks their own Guardian Angel that they keep for life, having a personal connection through daily prayer. Upon passing away, the exemplary person becomes a guardian angel for others. The guardian angels were said to fly as on wings, perhaps the source of our contemporary view of winged angels.

The three great religions of our time are known as the religions of the book, as each has a holy book, a direct gift of God to the believers of that religion. They are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Their holy books are the Tanakh (Old Testament to a Christian), Bible, and Koran respectively. All three contain passages describing angels, their relation to God and to mankind, and a hierarchy of different duties and capabilities. God uses angels to bring messages to mankind through individuals that are considered holy men by their respective religion. This is loosely termed prophecy and as such, angels are messengers. Angels are also sent as teachers by God, not bringing a warning of impending disaster but instead bringing instruction on how to pray or otherwise relate to God more effectively. Finally, God sends angels as ministers to assist certain holy individuals to accomplish certain tasks, like the angel who released St. Paul from prison so that he could go about his mission to the Gentiles.

This is a very simplistic account of what an angel is and does. There are libraries full of material from additional sources that extend the teachings of the three holy books mentioned above. There are other religions, such as Hinduism and Mormonism (an offshoot of Christianity), that include angels as part of their theology. The popular New Age movement, which is not a religion as there is no centralized authority nor is there a specific accepted holy book or writings, contains much information on the role of angels in a person's life. Finally, the news media reports on certain "miracles" from time to time in the mainstream publications as well as frequently in the fringe newspapers found at the check-out counters in grocery stores. Our purpose in mentioning all of this here is that angels are widely recognized to exist, have a special connection to God and a mission here on earth with us human mortals. Since this is such a wide-spread resource, why not take advantage of it?

ARKDark Angels

A word about "bad" angels needs to be mentioned here. Beginning with Zoroastrianism, the dark side has been recognized to exist and interact with humankind. The three religions of the book have extensive descriptions of these "bad" spirits and relate how they contribute to the "fall" of mankind. Christianity considers these to be fallen angels complete with a hierarchy that matches the holy orders of angels who have not strayed from God. Some religious groups attribute all the ills of the world and unhappy events to these spirits. Whether or not these spirits exist, the fact that many modern day people believe in them is enough to implant that energy here on earth and give it sustenance. Rather than focus on fighting demons, the Angelic RayKey discipline focuses upon replacing lower or dark energies with those of the higher light vibrations similar to that of God.
